Paper feeding technology utilizing electrostatic adhesion.
Wear and degradation similar to rubber components are almost nonexistent, allowing for long-term performance maintenance. Voltage control enables adaptation to changes in the material of the paper medium and environmental conditions.
Conventional paper media feeding was done using rubber rollers and pads, which wear out over time, leading to feeding failures. To address this issue, Yamaguchi University of Science and Technology in Sanyo-Onoda City developed a paper media feeding technology that utilizes electrostatic adhesion. Since the wear of the electrostatic pads that generate electrostatic adhesion is extremely low, it is expected to maintain feeding performance even after long-term use. Additionally, by controlling the applied voltage and waveform, it is possible to change the force acting on the paper media, allowing for adaptation to changes in the conditions of the paper media or the usage environment without modifying the mechanism.
